With an outstanding background as a professional high school counselor, former college coach and collegiate Hall of Famer with over 25 years of coaching experience, John Morgan, Jr. brings both his passion and his expertise of academics and football on and off the field, assisting student-athletes to advance their collegiate careers.
A native of Washington, D.C., and two-time graduate of Bowie State University, Morgan coached at Bowie State University, Salisbury State University, Morgan State University, Fort Valley State University, University of Maryland at College Park, North Carolina Central University, Friendly High School, and Delaware State University.
Some of Coach Morgan's career accolades includes leading the defense to national Division I-FCS rankings of No. 6 in pass defense, No. 10 in pass efficiency defense and No. 18 in total defense at North Carolina Central University. He led Friendly High School football team to the 1A/2A/3A County Championship and the University of Maryland at College Park Terps to a victory in the Champs Sports Bowl.
Morgan holds a bachelor’s in Sociology/Criminal Justice and a Master's in Counseling. He earned four letters as a linebacker for the Bulldogs, and helped lead the team to the 1989 CIAA Championship. John was inducted into the Bowie State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.
